Demographic Transition Model:
The country of France is currently in stage three of the demographic transition model but is about to enter stage four. Currently France has a declining crude birth rate that is currently at two children per woman. Also, the crude death rate is on a declining path and has not started to turn upward which a characteristic of countries in stage four of the demographic transition model. Another reason that France is in the third stage is that the country still has a rather large amount of people under the age of fifteen. When a country enters the fourth it's base of the population pyramid shrinks dramatically which has not happened yet in France.
